SAY HELLO TO THIS MONTH’S
Guest ARTISTS
Cakeable // I am a self taught cake artist and baker. I have always been an artist- starting in childhood when my dream was to be an animator for Disney. I went the Art Institute of Colorado for graphic design and marketing, and later obtained my cosmetology license before starting a family and landing in the role of stay at home mom. Creating artistic cakes with my kids brought the creative spark back to my life and I’ve been so fortunate to turn it into a business that I love. I am able to be a part of some of the happiest days of people’s lives and that fuels my fire to keep learning and creating!
Jo Lee // My name is Jo Lee, I am a queer artist based on Colorado. I strive to explore complex themes and emotions through unique combinations of mediums and designs. I love to fuse organic and inorganic elements to create something entirely new, the goal of my art is to celebrate what is otherwise deemed as "taboo". I create in many mediums: chalk, watercolor, acrylic, digital, sculpture etc. but I am mostly inspired by film and the natural world around me.
Brita LaTona // Brita grew up in the foothills of Colorado and nature has been her sanctuary. She found her love of painting as a teenager and enjoys working in acrylic on canvas. “Through my art I want to depict the inter-relationship between humans and the natural world. Nature and animals can symbolically show us what we have forgotten in ourselves. I hope that my art inspires people to look at themselves in a new light. When we understand the wisdom that nature shares with us, it allows us to uncover part of an ancient connection with ourselves, and all of life.”
Cameron Kinchen Design // Hello there fellow weirdo! My name is Cameron but my friends call me Cam. I’m a multidisciplinary artist passionate about graphic design, screen-printing, illustrating, animating…TLDR most things art related. I love taking on fun new projects where I can combine dispensaries and learn a cool new trick or two along the way. Currently creating weirdness out of Berthoud, Colorado.
Kate Galloway // I am a local medical, scientific illustrator and fine artist trained at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I’m deeply moved by the beauty I see in nature and how those patterns repeat inside the human body. I use the unpredictable, organic qualities of watercolor to mimic the varied shapes, patterns, and colors I observe in nature and give life to my work.
MaveRick has been performing as a Drag Artist for nearly 8 years. They are known as the "Drag Daddy" of Northern Colorado & Southern Wyoming.
A_boldartist // I am a self-taught artist who enjoys using all different types of medium. Majority of my paintings are done with oil or acrylic, but I do also enjoy, using my hands with clay or crafting to create unique pieces. Some of the artwork I recently have been focused on is bringing mental health awareness to the forefront since I myself suffer with anxiety, but I also love to incorporate elements of our environment, animals, and silly characters. My friends would say my style of painting is influenced by flash art in the tattoo community.
Abstruse Apparel // Retired wood shop teacher from New York and California, I now run Abstruse Apparel in Fort Collins creating digital art messaging and upcycling used clothing. Join my Collaborative Message Challenge every First Friday! Submit a creative message to see turned into apparel or digital art. Selected designs will be on display and the winner can pick up the item for FREE! Visit Funktional: A Space For Radical Reuse on 1228 W. Elizabeth Street to see my work. Let's change the world together, one stitch at a time!
Jennifer Carmack @Wild Spirit Colorado // As a yoga teacher and energy healer for over 20 years, my art reflects my conversations with people about trauma, healing, energy systems, and the mind-body connection. Whether I create a portrait or mandala, acrylic or collage, I seek to uncover the underlying layer. Each piece is an exploration of myself, revealing universal experiences. By opening up to what wants to come through the canvas, I connect with the energy of this wild world.
Hey everyone my name is Mackenna Allard, I'm the owner and creator of Colorado Peach Creations. I was born and raised in Fort Collins but recently moved to a small mountain town. I've been an artist all my life and worked in many creative industries. I started making custom burned felt hats inspired by nature and it took off! I love getting to create wearable art, with a boho western feel.
My name is Cynthia Martinez and I officially began my small business, Press Love and Wildflowers, in 2021. I grew up in both Phoenix, AZ and Fort Collins, but Colorado as been my home for the past few years. I‘ve always had a very creative side in me but I fell in love with the art of preserving flowers a few years ago when I decided to save flowers that were given to me in the past. Those flowers were dried and decorated in shadow boxes that were displayed around my house. My weeding bouquet, which I was lucky enough to preserved myself, was when I really became obsessed this idea of drying/pressing flowers, and be able to share my art with others. From then on, I’ve been so lucky to have brides trust me to preserve their wedding bouquet and give them something that they will truly cherish forever. In this last year, I have also learned new techniques and crafts that have helped grow my business. I’m so thankful for the Art community and everyone’s support around here. I’m looking very forward to learn, grow, and meet more amazing artists and people along the way.
tyboe // tyboe is a fort collins painter/muralist exploring the world of doodles one canvas, electric box, school bus, picnic table or brick wall at a time. (He'll basically paint on anything.) Owing his many doodle-like styles to his influences of cartoons, comic books, street art, and psychedelic concert posters, tyboe marries those influences with his affinity for science, nature, astrophysics and outer space documentaries. Resulting in intricate and imaginative doodles of all sizes, and brought to life with vibrant colors and playful subject matter that are pleasant yet thought provoking for all ages.
Joey Miranda // My goal as a crafts-person is to create a culture of authenticity as people drink their tea, set the table, or arrange flowers in their home. My work is made to carry food, water, and plants. I try my best not to make work that is too intricate or detailed, and keep my prices as reasonable as I can as well in the attempt to build a functioning culture for everyone. I work with as many local materials as I can. Using local wood ash for my glazes for now, I am working towards gathering my own clay within the area of Fort Collins, and building mills to process rocks for my work as well. Another passion of mine is to work for other potters, as I appreciate the community oriented nature of folk and cooperative pottery making. I love to teach, and do so at Fort Collins' Smokestack Pottery Studio.
Hypnagogist // Hypnagogist is multimedia visionary artist hailing from Columbus, Ohio, specializing in 3D animation, traditional painting, art installations, and mixed media fusions of the aforementioned works. Hypnagogia is the liminal space between wakefulness and sleep, and Hypnagogist's work reflects that with colorful and surreal imagery, pulling from conscious and unconscious states.
Mila Solo // Mila is a Ukrainian artist over 25 years of experience and now resides in the USA as a war refugee. She narrowly escaped after her studio in Ukraine was destroyed during a military attack losing her life’s work in the process and now resides in Fort Collins, Colorado. She skilfully uses multi-layered techniques to convey both volume and states in abstract painting. The concept of art is to create a multi-dimensional picture. Ambiguous and emotional. Art is the way to express emotions, experiences, awareness and composition on canvas. Each painting contains a deep and multifaceted meaning of philosophy and beauty of the world. This is reflection of our experiences, spiritual development and knowledge of the universe. Each work is unique and has a special message to the viewer.
Whisper Sister // Mycelium grows underground and designs a network, before ever fruiting mushrooms. Whisper Sister is the new budding fruit of an underground ear. Using all weapons and tools in their goal of pure expression. No leaders, only god in the room with a knife in her teeth. "And it's only just begun." Artwork by Liz Ortiz @madharepress

They admire even the plainest pieces of nature and inspire me with their awed eyes. I create art that expresses the sacred feminine and the beauty of the natural world. I fully believe that art is meant to be shared so I started DanaPaintsCo to make it easier to share my work beyond just my immediate circle. I typically work with acrylic paint but will occasionally pick up chalk pastels, charcoal, or another kind of paint and see what happens.
Alejandro Alonzo was raised in Tampa, Florida, and lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. Alejandro specializes in silver gelatin prints based on styles influenced by decisive moments, portraits, landscapes, and studio work. Come learn about his culture and style through the collection of his hand-crafted prints developed in his darkroom.
Creative Follies was born of the belief that the world can always use more levity, and that we too often feel the need to justify things in practical terms. If something brings you joy, solace, or more meaningful relationships, it is self-justifying. To Hell with its practical value. Art always has been, and always will be, a cornerstone of my sanity. But like most people with a creative drive, I've let it lie fallow at different stages in my life. Most of my best ideas have been stolen ... from my kids. Or in some way inspired by them. One day if I am successful perhaps they'll sue me. In the meantime, I feel privileged to be able to share my art, humor, and ideas with you. Whether you feel an artistic or intellectual kinship with me, or you simply get a laugh out of T-Rexes riding unicycles, thanks for dropping in.

Cassie Hessong // As a life long mountain/desert dweller I draw my inspiration from our natural surroundings, but also from the people who've left a mark on the landscape. I can almost always be found in a flea market or bookstore pillaging for new muses in the dusty stacks.

She has found herself drawn to metal casting as both an artistic medium and a facilitator of personal growth. In the past, alchemists attempted to transform metals to gold; the melting of metal being a facilitator of change. Metal casting is a similar healing process for Erin; a symbol of the change within - hence her artist name, Meld&Heal. Erin additionally loves to draw and paint, and created a 78-card tarot deck called Unconscious Tarot. Erin works as an art handler and taxidermist in Laporte, and fills her free time with plenty of metal casting, a daily hot yoga practice, and trail runs with her husband, Chris. Xavier Pereira // Xavier’s works can be characterized by punchy dabs of paint; they are motivated by personal observations and sentimental experiences shared with others- utilizing concepts that expand upon sensory impressions. Using his art as a form of meditation, he finds peace in letting the world fade away while narrowing focus on the minute details throughout the canvas. Also a mechanical engineer, he lets his experience in creative problem solving take shape in his art. I run a hot dog cart called Duffs Old Town Sausage cart. Duff was my “roommate” for a couple of years while I lived with my friend Garrett. While Duff (old English bulldog) was Garretts dog Duff and I really bonded over time. Anyways the cart is my true passion and yes I do believe a perfectly cooked hot dog/sausage on a golden brown toasted bun is art.
