Join Liz Ortiz of Mad Hare Press, for a Thursday evening of Piñata Making!

At this workshop you will get a brief introduction to the cultural history of the Piñata. Participants will learn about various Piñata Making techniques and Liz will give instruction on using paper mâché vs recycled cardboard methods. Each participant will get a premade piñata as well as materials used to decorate.

 • Each participant will receive a blank premade Piñata.

 • All tools necessary will be provided for use during the workshop.

 • There is no Art experience necessary.

 • Please bring images/drawings for design inspiration.

Bio:

Liz Ortiz of Mad Hare Press is a Fort Collins based multidisciplinary artist, who specializes in various printmaking methods and techniques. Liz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with concentrations in Photo Image Making and Printmaking. During her academic career she focused on intaglio, lithography and woodcut printmaking methods as well as analog black and white photography. Afterwards she transitioned to more accessible printmaking methods with relief block printing being her current chosen method. Liz uses various block surfaces but mainly uses hard linoleum (Lino) blocks to create relief prints. Each image is hand carved on one or multiple Lino blocks and hand printed on various surfaces including archival cotton paper and textiles.
