Exquisite Corpse Pink Eraser Block Printmaking Workshop
Unleash your creativity and collaborate in a fun and unique printmaking experience with the Exquisite Corpse Pink Eraser Block Printing Workshop, led by Liz Ortiz of Mad Hare Press! This workshop invites participants to explore the imaginative world of Exquisite Corpse, a collaborative art game, using pink eraser blocks for printmaking.
Workshop Overview:
In this 2-hour workshop, participants will:
Introduction to Exquisite Corpse: Learn about the history & concept of Exquisite Corpse, a surrealist art game that involves collaborative creation.
Tools and Materials: Get familiar with the tools and materials, including pink eraser blocks, carving tools, and inks.
Design and Carve: Create your own unique design on a pink eraser block. Design a Head, Torso, & Legs to create a weird & fun creature!
Collaborative Printing: Work in with fellow participants to combine individual prints into a collective artwork, discovering the unexpected results of this creative process.
Workshop Highlights:
• Each participant will receive 3 qty 1x2" pink eraser blocks.
• Access to carving tools and inks.
• All necessary tools and materials will be provided.
• Aprons will be available, however, due to the nature of the printing process it is possible that ink may be transferred to clothing.
• Each participant will take home their individual eraser block print as well as a piece of the collaborative Exquisite Corpse artwork.
• No prior art or printmaking experience is necessary.
What to Bring:
Imagery to use for reference or an image prepared to print (Eraser block size will be 1x2"). Remember to draw a Head, Torso, & Legs.
About Liz Ortiz:
Liz Ortiz of Mad Hare Press is a Fort Collins-based multidisciplinary artist specializing in various printmaking techniques. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photo Image Making and Printmaking, Liz brings extensive knowledge and a passion for making art accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

• Minimum Age Requirement: Suggested minimum age is 15 years. Sharp carving tools will be used during this workshop and to prevent any injury it is recommended there be a confident level of hand coordination for any minor.
• Parent/Guardian Attendence: Minors 15-17 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must sign liability waiver(s) for any minor and must be present for the entirety of the workshop.
