Join Jenn Snow and Xavier Pereira for a watercolor workshop series that brings your creativity from the studio to the outdoors. Experience hands-on learning that seamlessly blends indoor techniques with plein air painting.

Participants can sign up for one or both of the two remaining workshops. However, we encourage signing up for them both to enjoy the complete experience, from creating your own paint to painting in the open air!

Part 1: Handcrafted Watercolor Sketchbooks Workshop

Sunday, October 13th, 2 - 5 pm
Craft your own personalized sketchbook using premium 100% cotton cold-pressed watercolor paper and sketching sheets. You'll learn the art of binding and taping your portable book, perfect for capturing creative moments wherever you go.

Part 2: Crafting Your Own Watercolor Palette

Sunday, October 20th, 2 - 5 pm
Discover how to make your own watercolor paints from natural pigments and gum arabic. By the end of this hands-on workshop, you'll have your own 12-paint palette, filled with eco-friendly, vibrant colors in portable pans—ready for your next adventure. This workshop is located at Petrichor Collective, 131 E. Lincoln Ave, Suite C, Fort Collins.

Part 3: Painting the Outdoors – Plein Air at Watson’s Lake

Sunday, October 27th, 2 - 5 pm
Take your handmade sketchbook and paints into nature for a plein air painting session at a scenic local destination. Learn tips and techniques to capture the beauty of the natural landscape as you paint outdoors at Watson Lake. Meet at the entrance of Watson Lake at 2pm. If you'd like to carpool, shoot us an email at hello@petrichorcollective.art before Sunday, October 20th. Note for Part 3: if you missed Part 1 and/or Part 2 of the series, no worries! The supplies needed for plein air painting will be provided.

Directions to Watson Lake

Located 2 miles west of Laporte and 6 miles northwest of Fort Collins. From Fort Collins, go north on highway 287 from highway 14. Stay on “Old 287” (do not take 287 bypass) to the town of LaPorte. From LaPorte, go 1 mile west on County Road 54G (the main road through town) to County Road 52E (Rist Canyon road), then 1 mile west (left) to the property entrance on the west side of the river.

Each workshop is designed to be taken on it's own or as part of the 3 part series. If you missed making your own sketchbook and/or paint making, those supplies will be provided for you for Part 3: Plein Air Painting at Watson's Lake on October 27th from 2-5pm.
